From May 2nd until May 4th, the AIDED project held an extensive data acquisition campaign at the premises of the Belgian demining group DOVO in Meerdaal. Following three key environments & scenarios, IEDs and explosive ordnance were manufactures and hidden around the site by DOVO specialists. A heterogeneous team of ground and air robots, equipped with various sensors, then moved over and sensed this area.
The main goal of this campaign was to collect data required for the training of the AI algorithms for automated detection of IEDs and explosive devices.
